Luxembourg life insurance is much more than just a savings or transfer tool; it is now a genuine wealth structuring instrument. Among the solutions it offers, the internal dedicated fund (IDF) is one of the most personalised options available to meet the needs of wealthy clients.
The IDF makes it possible to build a tailor-made investment strategy based on the policyholder's wealth situation, financial objectives, risk profile and investment horizon. This approach provides significant flexibility in asset management while benefiting from the protective framework of Luxembourg life insurance.
Thanks to its open architecture, OneLife provides access to a wide range of partners in order to meet the most specific expectations. Intermediaries and their clients can rely on more than 250 asset managers and over 70 custodian banks referenced by the company to select the expertise best suited to their wealth strategy.
Depending on the objectives pursued, the IDF can also be integrated into a broader wealth strategy that includes financing solutions such as Lombard loans. This mechanism consists of a bank loan secured by the pledge of the life insurance policy, allowing access to liquidity without surrender. The policyholder can thus finance a project while retaining their invested assets, their potential for appreciation, and the tax history of their policy.
Accessible from €250,000 of investment, IDFs combine personalisation, diversification, and wealth management support within a Luxembourg life insurance policy.
An event dedicated to experts in individual management
In order to highlight the opportunities offered by IDFs, OneLife organised its first Dedicated Fund Day in Belgium in June, bringing together around fifty insurance intermediaries, 16 asset managers and 4 custodian banks around the challenges of tailor-made wealth management.
Throughout the day, participants were able to learn about the latest market developments, discuss the opportunities offered by internal dedicated funds and explore the issues related to wealth structuring and financing.
In addition to exchanges between professionals, this event illustrated the richness of the ecosystem surrounding internal dedicated funds and confirmed the role of Luxembourg life insurance as a reference solution to support complex wealth situations, combining personalisation, flexibility and asset protection.
